Gearing Up for the 2012 Belly Dance Community Survey -- What Do YOU Want to Know?

Last year's belly dance student survey was fun and informative -- I hope it gave instructors, event producers, vendors and others who make some or all of their living from belly dance some valuable insights into how students were spending their time and money!

This year's survey is going to be a little more broad.  We'll check in for an update on some of the more interesting questions from last year's survey, but I also want to ask the community as a whole about what excites them, what inspires them, and -- again, when it comes right down to it -- how they choose to spend their time and money.  Classes, workshops, shows, competitions, costuming, DVDs, musical instruments... how do raqs enthusiasts choose between all the options we are fortunate to have available to us?

If you've got a specific question you'd like to ask the belly dance community, let me know!  The survey can only include so many questions, but I will try to address your suggestions.  Just add a comment on this post or send an e-mail to  The survey will be conducted for about six weeks, beginning in mid-November.  Thanks in advance for your participation!
